PITCHING FOR AMALIE by Hayley Faiman

3 for 1 home run!

4 out of 5 Kinks

For the love of baseball!  This a great read! The cover made me buy the book.  Amalie and Jarrod’s sweet hot romance keep me up past bedtime to finish it.

Amalie is a 6th feet tall ultrasound technician living with her best friend and roommate Jo.    One night, she meets a tall, sexy guy in the VIP room at a local club.  Then she leaves the club before she learns anything about him.  But she doesn’t forget the “mystery” guy who made her feel feminine and vulnerable, especially while being sensitive about her height and curves.  So, to capitalize on that hot duo,   she indulges in a “hobby” as a pinup model.

A few days later, he calls her out of the blue and takes her out on a date.  The next thing you know she is dating “mystery” man with the red Ferrari and NYC penthouse apartments.  He introduces her to his “colleagues” and takes her to work with him.  Who takes the girl you dating to work with you? She wonders.  Turns out Mr. Mystery Man, Jarrod, is a professional baseball player. Amalie does not follow sports and has no idea what a big deal Jarrod is in the sports world.

The story is very romantic; the sex is very HOT! Everything Jarrod throws, in and out of the bedroom, has a lot of heat behind it.  He is a guy who wants to introduce her to his friends and family.  He is the perfect guy to protect and love her.  The romance is very beautiful with elements of suspense.  I hope to see more Boys of Summer romances from this new author.

YOUR BOYFRIEND'S A BAD-ASS!

I went to the movies last night to see Jurassic World. In the movie, young Zach says to Claire (Dallas Bryce Howard) as he looks at Chris Pratt's character ride a motorcycle alongside his raptor-dino-gang " Your boyfriend's a bad-ass"  And that made me think: What makes a book boyfriend (BBF) a bad-ass?

Confidence- He radiates confidence. He does not care what others think of him.  In his world, he is the only one that matters.
Passionate - He knows what he likes (both in and out of the bedroom) and he goes after what he wants.
Successful - Failure is not an option
Driven - They pick a targets; set goals. They plot to achieve them. They do whatever is necessary until they get what they want.
Natural Leader - People look to them for direction
Well Dress - Attention to detail, impeccably dress - always

My favorite Book Boyfriends are listed below:

SAY MY NAME by J KENNER *****REVIEW*****

My rating: 4 out of 5 Kinks

No one can create damaged characters like J Kenner. In the first Stark Trilogy, we are introduce to the heroine who physically harms herself. In the Stark International Trilogy, while not as extreme, this heroine finds her own therapy to cope with her dark past, in a physical way too. Second-Chance romances are not my preferred read. I do not like treading through pages of history. So while reading I told myself, this is J Kenner writing though. She is one of my favorite authors. After finishing the book, I am ready and excited to see how the story twists, turns and intertwines. I realize I have to understand Jackson and Sylvia’s history to understand the angst that will surely follow in books two and three. And boy, do we get a cliffhanger at the end. For those who can’t get enough of Damien and Nikki (hands clapping) you get to peek into their lives once again.

WHO IS JACKSON STEELE? WHO IS SYLVIA BROOKS?

He is a hot, sexy, alpha male architect. She is Damien Stark’s top notch assistant. He is Sylvia’s ticket to the inner sanctum of Stark Real Estate Development. Too bad they have a romantic past that didn’t end well years ago. But she needs him. And she turns to the only person who can help her. Too bad Jackson has no interest in working for Stark International. And he makes damn sure Damien Stark knows it. So what now?

She needs her ex-lover - who most likely does NOT like her, to help her boss - who he most definitely do NOT like, to pull off the ultimate real estate development deal (a family friendly resort on an island). A project she is responsible for bringing to his attention. She convinces him to take on the project. He agrees. In exchange he gets to have her again. He makes no apologies for expecting her to come to his bed once again in exchange for taking on the project. But why did she leave him years ago? Why does he still want her? Doing business with a little KINK thrown in, they rekindle their affair. A lot can happen with a $1000 bottle of wine and bowl of caviar. But who is playing who? Is she using him to further her career? Is he using her to extract revenge? What’s up with all the secrecy? Someone is trying to sabotage Damien’s deal; Sylvia’s past wiggles its ugly head again.

PRIEST By Sierra Simone ***Book Review***

MY RATING: 5+ out of 5 Kinks

Wow, just WOW! OMG! If only they knew what I was reading on my Kindle. I knew from the blurb, PRIEST was going to be a good read. It takes “forbidden” “holy crap” and “O, God’ to another level. It doesn’t hurt that the book comes with a warning! Oh yeah, sign me up for the fall down the rabbit’s hole.

We are introduced to Father Bell’s POV and his confession in the beginning. In his confession Father Bell states “I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church” That has to be a metaphor right? Ok, we will come back to that…..maybe?!

He meets Poppy Danforth when she walks into confessional. Immediately, her voice makes him feel like a man. After meeting her, Father Bell takes us through a journey of curiosity, self-control, guilt, desire, regret, penitence, shame, love and acceptance. The story, which may be considered as taboo, is very real and true to the hero’s struggle.

The PRIEST, clearly broke a lot of commandments. In his struggle with Poppy, Tyler becomes so enamored he feels he would kill (another metaphor?) if it means he could have her. Instead of offering herself to him freely, she prefers Tyler to ‘steal’ her kiss and her submission. He displays moments of jealousy regarding Poppy’s life before him. His secret relationship results in lies to his friends and parishioners. As he falls further, he admits to himself he’s made an idol of Poppy. As for being neighborly, Poppy lives on the same block as the church which makes coveting the neighbor’s house somewhat ironic.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s an erotic romance and it kicks ass everywhere. The sex is hot and forbidden. It’s the forbidden that pulls you in and makes you keep turning the pages. It’s the forbidden that keeps you wondering just how far? And it delivers. The author, Sierra Simone, promised and warned that there would be “sex and more sex” and did not shy away. However, the sex is not just fluff for the purpose of the writing is honest, knowledgeable and respectable to the process of struggle and acceptance. Very well written!!

In the end, the question remains: Do you make decisions based on what you want for someone else or what is needed for you. Sometimes there are things you must do or see before you get to where you need to be. It’s a definite MUST READ AND JOURNEY!

In case you didn’t figure it out: My review: 6 KINKS!!!!!! Could NOT put it down!
